Hi, I'm Helen George — a self-taught full stack engineer, former people leader at Venmo, and founder of Do Hire Me, a platform that helps job seekers turn their real-world experience into career-winning narratives.
My background isn't traditional, and that's exactly why I'm passionate about this work. I know what it feels like to be underestimated — not because of your skills or work ethic, but because your path doesn't fit a standard mold.
I've been on both sides of the hiring table. I've led teams and made hiring decisions, and I've also navigated unexpected job transitions. What made the difference for me wasn't luck — it was learning how to articulate my value in a way that connects.
I created Do Hire Me to help others do the same: bridge the gap between experience and opportunity. Because getting the job isn't just about what you know — it's about how you explain it.
My Journey
- I earned my GED while raising four kids.
- I worked my way up through customer service and into leadership.
- I taught myself to code, built full stack apps, and now work in tech as a Technical Account Manager.
